First Position in Speech Competition Roots School System
Rawalpindi : First Position in Speech Competition Roots School System took first position compition organized 10th of november 2013, Specially celebrating alama iqbal 136th birth anniversary of our national poet at Rawalpindi Arts Council with national zeal.
A photographic exhibition based on life and political struggle for Pakistan of Dr Allama Iqbal was also arranged to mark the day in a befitting manner and pay homage to the great poet who envisioned the idea of a separate homeland for the Muslims of sub-continent.
Member National Assembly Raja Javed Akhlas, Senator Razina Alam, Naheed Manzoor, Namair Hassan Madni and Waqar Ahmed, were the guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Member National Assembly Raja Javed Akhlas said that the vision of Allama Iqbal and his thoughts were instrumental in awakening the Muslims from deep slumber which was coupled with the sustained efforts of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah that led to the birth of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
In speech competition, Muhmaad Umer from Roots School System bagged first position, Umm-e-Rubab from Station School secured second and Komal Imtiaz from Aims School got third.
Similarly, in tableau competition, which was based on poetry of Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Khalid Boys Model School got first position; Station School got second, Dar-e-Arqam secured third position.
Kalam-e-Iqbal individual category, Ahmed Shah from Roots School secured first, Midhat Mahboob got second and Adeela Akhtar of City English School remained third while in Kalam-e-Iqbal group category, City English School secured first, Khalid Boys Schools got second and Station School remained third.
Later, Senator Razina Alam inaugurated the exhibition based on the rare photos on life and struggle of Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
The ceremony was witnessed by a large number of school children and general public who thronged Arts Council on the eve of his birth anniversary. (Source The news)
